about

SMO (Seattle Modern Orchestra) firmly stands with BLACK LIVES MATTER and is releasing a live concert recording to raise funds for BLM-Seattle King County and the Lavender Rights Project WA Black Trans Task Force, which provides much needed resources to broaden safety nets and increase avenues for justice for the Black trans community in the Seattle area.

100% of all funds will go directly to these 2 organizations.

The live concert recording prominently features works by Black composers, and includes a recording of a powerful protest work by Darius Jones. SMO is grateful to all the musicians and composers who support the release of this fundraising album for BLM.

We believe in the eradication of systemic institutionalized racism, and the transformative power of individuals and communities coming together to fight for justice, equality and change. There is strength in numbers. We hope you will support, share and donate generously. Thank you very much!
